Fresh Water Fishing – 2022
Paintings – Acrylic on Canvas – 30 x 30 cm (pre-stretched)
Gudanji and Garrwa, two of the four tribes who live in the Borroloola region are known as ‘fresh water people’. This is because their traditional lands are away from the coast, and rely heavily on the bounty of the rivers and billabongs. Fresh water turtles, lily seeds, crayfish and barramundi are just a few of the many foods hunted and harvested from the fresh water habitats.
