Every year in Borroloola we have the Malandari Festival.
This is the biggest cultural event on our calendar and is all about performing our traditional dances for everyone to come together, enjoy and keep family and culture strong.
All clans take part – Marra, Yanyuwa, Garrwa, Gudanji – everyone all together sharing song, dance and stories.
The colours represent the four clans, and the patterns talk about the dance rhythms, and songs.
