Annie is a Warlmanpa woman whose family are from the Tennant Creek region.
The region has five clan or language groups – Warlmanpa, Kayetetye, Warumungu, Alyawarr and Warlpiri.
The four clan groups each have their own language and their own cultural practices, but commonly work together, marry and share cultural practices (including some common words) .
